How the work runs
From the first message to handing over the code, the accounts and the project. What gets built, what it costs and when it is due are fixed in the contract before development starts.
I work as a self-employed contractor (самозанятый) under a written contract. You know in advance what will be done, what it costs, when it will be ready and what you receive once the project is finished.

How the work runs
Seven stages, the same for a landing page and for an online store. What changes is the amount of work inside the fourth one; everything else is arranged the same way.

Discussing the task
You describe the task and pass on the source material and whatever is already known: a link to the current site, credentials, texts and photographs if you have them.
I clarify the requirements and propose a way to implement them.
The first consultation is free and commits you to nothing.

The Assignment to the contract
The result is fixed in the Assignment — an annex to the contract, signed before development starts. It states:
- the scope of work;
- the result;
- the price;
- the final deadline for the project;
- the material the client has to provide.
If the requirements change once the work has started, the new work is agreed separately — through an Amendment to the Assignment.

Contract and 30% up front
Before development starts, both parties sign the contract and the Assignment.
The client pays 30% of the project price. Development begins once that payment arrives.
Every payment is receipted through the «Мой налог» app, as Russian self-employment tax requires.

Development
The project is built and tested in my own environment. It reaches the client's infrastructure at handover — until that moment nothing there changes.
Along the way I can show intermediate results for review.
If the client is late with material, credentials or approval, the final deadline moves by the same period.

Acceptance
Once development is finished I hand the result over for review. The client has 5 working days to accept it.
Anything that does not match the agreed Assignment I fix at no extra charge.
New wishes and requirements that were not in the Assignment are quoted and agreed separately.

The remaining 70%
Once the result has been accepted, the client pays the remaining 70% of the project price.
Payment in full does not end my obligations under the contract: the handover starts after it.

Handing the project over
Once the project is paid in full, within the period the contract sets out I:
- move the agreed result onto the client's infrastructure;
- hand over the repository and the source code;
- hand over the instructions needed to run it;
- hand over the material and credentials the Assignment provides for.
Exclusive rights to the result created for the project pass to the client once it is paid in full. Third-party open-source components continue to be used under their own licences.
After launch
14days
The stabilisation period
For 14 calendar days after the handover I promptly fix implementation defects that come to light — cases where the result does not behave the way the agreed Assignment said it would.
Ongoing technical support and further development are agreed separately.
The stabilisation period does not cover
- new features;
- changes to previously agreed requirements;
- design changes the client asks for;
- support and further development of the project;
- problems with third-party services, hosting or the client's infrastructure that my implementation did not cause.
What the client gets
Everything the project needs to keep running — with me or without me.
- the agreed result, working;
- the source code;
- the repository;
- the instructions needed to run it;
- the material the project provides for;
- the rights to the result created, once it is paid in full;
- the option to hand further support to another developer.
Once handed over, the project must not be technically dependent on the contractor.

Below are samples of every document a project involves. They open without asking: what you are going to sign is worth reading in advance.
Before the work starts
Contract for a company or sole trader
A framework contract: how the Assignment is agreed, where development happens, how deadlines are counted, how rights pass. Signed once; each later project gets a new Assignment under it.
Contract for an individual
The same thing for a private client, written around the consumer rights Russian law makes mandatory: no clause of the contract limits them.
The Assignment to the contract
The central document of a project: pages and features, visual direction, source material, acceptance criteria, price and deadline. This is what the result is checked against at acceptance.
If the requirements change
Amendment to the Assignment
A one-page document: what changes, what it costs, how the deadline moves and how the change is checked.
Once the project is finished
Acceptance act
Records that the result has been handed over: where it is deployed, where the repository went, which instructions were received and the date the stabilisation period starts from.
Receipt from «Мой налог»
Issued for every payment received and sent to the client. For companies and sole traders it is what closes the expense — together with the acceptance act.
Handover checklist
A line-by-line check of the handover: repository, hosting, domain, DNS, certificate, environment variables, credentials, instructions. An annex to the acceptance act.
These are samples. Before a particular project starts, the Assignment, the price, the deadline and the scope of work are filled in for that client's task. Bank details and signature lines have been removed from the published samples.
